After the book

Some chapters are easier with someone to talk to.

Reading about estrangement, grief, or a father you haven't forgiven yet can bring things up faster than you expect. If it does, you don't have to sit with it alone — every reader can book a free introductory conversation with a licensed therapist from our partner network.

Why we added this

A book can open a door. It can't always walk through it with you. Part IV of Dad in the Mirror deals directly with grief, regret, and estrangement — heavy, real material. Having somewhere to take what comes up felt like part of the responsibility of publishing it.
